Thank you Shire/Takeda for a great evening!

Great Basin supported the Shire (now Takeda) dinner event on IVIG last evening at Bricks. Andrea brought in Dr. Siegal who basically has been running data/statistics on Immunoglobulin therapy since it was first introduced in 1979. He was an AMAZING speaker, explaining about how blood is fractionated (uses 70% alcohol), how 100ml of blood only u=yeilds 4 grams of Immunoglobulin, why China has the highest per capita use, how it can actually be given subcu, and we kept up with the finals of college basketball (sorry to see you lose, Texas Tech).
My table had a great after dinner discussion about the availability of a domestic abuse animal shelter in Reno (some victims won't leave without their pets/most shelters don't take pets and in the case of sex trafficking, and the pimps buy pets specifically to harm the pet when their victim doesn't perform up to their expectations). Another discussion was about BACA - Bikers Against Child Abuse. This is an amazing group of bikers who sit in the courtroom providing support for child abuse victims when those victims are forced to testify with the perpetrator sitting in the courtroom.
Don't miss out on future events! Watch for our notices and register right away.
Our next event is a member appreciation "Spa" day at Pinnacle Wellness, adjacent to Bricks. Check out the events page for details.
See you there!
